Good question.

not without deleting the account and starting over...

Open a helpdesk ticket if this _needs_ to be done, include your domain name, preferred username, and password. All data will be lost when this happens!! We're _EXTREMELY_ swamped right now, so this might not happen immediately, but we will get to it.

Due to the number of requests to do this, we need to start charging a service fee...

There's now a $10 fee for changing your username, due to the time it takes to delete, update billing, and recreate.

Payment can be made via Paypal to: sales@hostpc.com

Will the email address you enter be used as the login, or does the form ask for it later on?

Right now the signup form asks you to enter your email address twice, then your password. That suggests that your email address might become the login.

So does the login screen - it asks for an email address.

But the site I'm creating isn't ultimately for me, it's for a nonprofit, so I don't want to use my email address as the permanent login.

I can make up a site related address (something@mynewdomain.org) but it won't be a working address until this hosting package is set up ...

Well, one answer - register with a gmail address. Not really sure if you need or want another email address, but it might actually get used. When you move on, you can hand over the gmail login/password with the site.

Many hosts do allow you to create a login name separate from the email address. No doubt it adds some complexity, but something for HostPC to think about. It should remove the need for many of the requests for changes to the login name.

Jogin names are usually based on the domain name and not the customers email address. Email addresses of the owners have nothing to do with what the name of the sites login is.

True, it turns out your control panel login etc are seemingly based on the domain name.

Only your hostpc profile login is based on the email. I don't see a way to change the email address in the profile.

The helpdesk would be happy to change the email address on an account. Many times, customers neglect to tell us when they change email addresses, so they miss important communications from HostPC that require them to take action (updating scripts, renewing subscriptions, etc.). We would much rather be able to reach you when the need arises than to resort to suspending your account to force you to contact us. :)
