View Full Version : Add An Additional Domain Name.

I currently have 1 domain name registered with HostPC, and have purchased a hosting package.
Can I purchase a bigger hosting package, and add additional domain names? I figured it would be kind of pointless to have 2 directadmin accounts, when I could control everything from one.
Please advise. Thanks.

When I was looking at the HostPC hosting packages, how do I upgrade the current package I already have?
It appears there are "Add-On Domains" and I assume this will solve my problem of adding additional domains.
If you start a new annual package, is the transition easy? Can you change the login as well when the new package becomes effective?

If thats what you need is additional domains, yes- that'll do the trick.

Fortunately, with DirectAdmin, there's no real transition, we just change your account in place.

If you choose to change the login name, it becomes a little more difficult. We must erase your current account and create a whole new one - with the new username. All updates for your website, emails, databases, etc would be lost during this procedure.

Well I signed up for a better plan than what I had before. Do they pro-redit the remainder of the original plan and apply it to the new one? Just curious...
What is the timeframe until the server is updated? Does my original login remain the same?

Dang...I just got notice of the update in the server, but it assigned me a different login name grrr....
If you were a registered user, or mentioned your domain name, it would have helped :)
I've already fixed this - and cleared your helpdesk ticket.

Hey Joe...thanks for the quick fix, I sure appreciate it. I am now registered as well for future communication.
Also, the new hosting plan I purchased had the following, which does not show in the newly changed DirectAdmin:
[account information deleted]
I have updated your quotas, randomcomputers. When you have account issues like this, the helpdesk is definitely the best place to resolve them. :)

I believe I am in a similar position, I have one domain, and want a second one to simple point to the same place i.e. http://www.pacpac.co.nz and http://www.pacpac.com.au
But I must admit I am a tad intimidated by DNS settings, so to add my second domain what must I add?
The second domain is already pointing to the hostpc name server IPs.
One more question, if I do this, is it possible to have hostpc.com and hostpc.net email addresses?

I think you'll find everything you need regarding hosting additional domains at http://www.site-helper.com/misc.html#domains
Set the DNS for the second domain exactly like the first domain if it is hosted within the same account or same server.
AFAIK, Joe has never issued a customer a hostpc address. :) Most people seem to prefer to have email sent to their own domains.

Ack, I ment my own domain for the emails. I initially used hostpc.net and hostpc.com as domain examples before changing the top two to my actual domains.
I will give it a read and give it a go :+) Ta
