Brief Outages Planned For All Servers 12/21

This afternoon, December 21, 2004, Joe will be upgrading all servers to PHP Version 4.3.10.

Each HostPC server will have an outage of less than 10 minutes duration in the hours shortly before or after 4:00PM Eastern Time as part of the installation process.

We apologize for the short notice, but this is an important upgrade with security implications that needs to be installed ASAP.

If you observe an outage of longer than 10 minutes duration during this time, please feel free to report it via the helpdesk, but understand that a lack of an immediate response won't mean a lack of attention to the issue. We will simultaneously handle the upgrades and address the cause of the issue you report.

Updated date/time to reflect new scheduling for outage.

I've attempted to run this upgrade twice now, and twice there's been "issues" involved with completing it. As it sits right now, the upgrade was NOT completed on schedule, and it's still pending.

After this mornings attempt, it was noted that Installatron fails to run. It turns out that there is no current ioncube loader (required part of installatron) compatible iwth the new version.

As soon as all components are safe to upgrade, we'll move this back to the top of the priority list, and I'll advise on the new schedule.
