I would like to forward all my email to my gmail account. I currently have an email address myname@mydomain.org and would like to forward all new mail to my gmail mail account. Is there any way to not lose my old mail and still create a forwarder with the same name? Worse comes to worse I can just manually forward all my old mail to my gmail account and delete the mail box and just set up a forwarder but thats kinda a pain.
[edit] Just to make it more clear. Right now I have both a forwarder and an email account with the same name. It does forward the mail to my gmail account but it also creates a copy in my domain account which I don't want.
There's really no way to do that ... as far as I know

I am a little confused. You already have both a forwarder for new messages and your hostpc account with old mail (and copies of the new messages), correct?
SO, what you want is to move the old mail to the GMAIL account? -OR- do you want to only have new mail go the the new GMAIL, but try and keep the OLD stuff on the hostpc server?
It may be possible to just have Joe or one of the HostPC admins move the mail inbox to another mailbox name, for example user frank becomes frank-archive. Then you can delete the old user account frank, but leave the forwarder intact.

Joe, is it possible to rename account or is it just more trouble than its worth?

mackworth-
I would suggest you make the request via the helpdesk instead of via the forum.
You cannot obviously (or not so obviously) have a physical mailbox and forwarder with the same name.
You'll need to forward all the mail in your current physical box to Gmail, delete it and then create a forwarder with that name.
That being said, it is also possible to keep a copy on the server AND at Gmail, just create a new physical box with a different name and forward the mail to that box as well as Gmail.
Hope that answers your question.
