I would like to suggest that we change the default skin for UebiMiaul
as neotech.net links to a hosting provider.http://neotech.net/services.htm

Hostpc makes private dns and hostnames so that resellers can brand thier service but then web mail links to another hosting provider.

Our clients are confused by this and some have even tried to contact neotech for support.

Please let hostpc know you would like this skin changed if this bothers you as a reseller.
Thanks

If you upgrade to the new version of uebimau! the neotech.net theme is gone and there are several to choose from including the default one for uebimau!. I directadmin has the new file and has installed in on our new server.

So I hope our hostpc server can be upgraded and that will solve the skin problem and give users more features.

We are using this theme on one of our other severs and many users like it.

Themes are very easy to change or add the ability for users to change.

Thanks Hostpc

I've been looking for that skin.

Some servers have been upgraded, but not all. I'll make sure I go thru and upgrade them all this weekend.

I'll also go thru and install that Outlook skin.

Wonder if it can be ported to Squirrelmail? Hmmm...

Thanks Sean!!! Not sure about Squirrelmail but that would be nice.
I will look for a outlook skin for it.
These are cool. http://nutsmail.com/

I am trying to get the @domain.com to fill in the name in squirrelmail like hostpc has... on one of my other servers.

Using <?php echo $_SERVER["HTTP_HOST"];?>
Got the directadmin change password working but can't figure where to put it for the Name field in squirrelmail login..

Any thoughts Sean or Joe??

Thanks..

Don't think you can..not at least on the server provided install. It's part of the config. I'll look into it this week end to see if it can be done like it was in Ensim.

As for NutMail's skins..very nice, but very expensive..prohibitively so for a shared host with dozens of servers. :(

Sean....any idea when you might find time to add the Outlook skin to the other servers? Specifically 34, 42 and 43?

Thanks!

Sean I got the append domain working in squirrelmail with help from Eugene(thanks again). This was not for my reseller hostpc account but one of the other servers I have. I just wanted squirrelmail to look the same for all of my users no matter what server they were on.

I understand about nutsmail skins to much....

Any idea about upgrading webmail on 22 and 16.
Outlook skin would be nice also.

Thanks guys.

Actually, Joe and I were discussing things like this yesterday. What whe have here is a sort of quandrum.

While we want to try and ablige users as much as possible with server changes, what you end up with is a hodgepodge of changes that are not consistant across the board..

www21 may have this and that
www36 may not
www45 may have this but not that
www5 may have that but not this

Trying to keep track of all that with a growing server farm is getting harder and harder. Add to that complexity of some changes asked for. Some require customizing the build script for DA and when a new release of DA gets installed, those changes get wiped and we go and rebuild something..well, wipes out previous changes, etc...

We are working on coming up with a change control method that will make this easier for us, but unfortunately may make it little more difficult for end users to get custom changes.

Basically requests will be reviewed and if it's determined that the change is beneficial to multiple users, will require significant upkeep from us, etc. Once that's done, it will be scheduled, documented and rolled out to ALL servers at once.

Before we can do this, we need to first inventory what's on the servers now. :( That's gonna take time.

Yes, I can imagine this is a big problem and I've seen this situation first hand over the time I've been a HostPC customer. I have a number of business clients who I've gotten set up here and I notice how there are differences between their setups. For instance, www34 has a completely different version of UebiMiau than the other servers we're on.

Well, the Outlook skin is just eye candy and it's more important that you're able to get a handle on all the configurations and be able to maintain them efficiently. Thanks for your candid answers!
