View Full Version : Looking for Mail List That Won't Send as Bulk

I use the built in Majordomo mail list feature, but it sends the mail as bulk precedence. Some mail servers are set up to automatically consider all bulk mail as junk.

Is there a way to change the setting to normal, or is there another recommended way to send to a mail list. I could just create a group in Thunderbird to send it, but I like the way Majordomo doesn't show the address of all the recipients.

Thanks

Edit - I found a message Joe wrote about modifying the config file over in the General Help area. When I send the request to retrieve the config file, I get an error that a password is needed. I added my Directadmin password to the end of the command, but it came back as invalid. The help file doesn't show the format of the config command, so I was wondering if there's information on what Majordomo thinks the password is?

If you use DA to view your list you should see the following at the top of the email list...

To change list and digest settings, click here (http://www.agawamchurch.org:2222/CMD_EMAIL_LIST?action=modify&name=share&DOMAIN=agawamchurch.org)

if you click it, it will show you the settings in your config file. The passwords are the first two at the top of the screen.

Caution: it is possible to set config options that are not available from this screen. Using this screen will rewrite your config file with only these parameters.
(not a problem if you haven't done anything "special" with your config file)

Thanks Tom,

That's a lot easier than editing the file. I didn't notice that line at the top of the address list.
