View Full Version : Better, Simple Mailing Lists

I use DA to set up and manage a few mailing lists. These are basic lists with 30 or 40 members that are used for general communications and announcments, no need for attachements, etc.

There are minor improvements that would make my life immensely simpler, so, if anyone knows a better script, etc. or if DA will improve this area, maybe that would work too:

1. In addition to the email address, a field to enter the person's name. When I need to add / remove people, I don't always know who everyone is and I have to compare the email address to a spreadsheet I keep

2. Speaking of spreadsheets, the ability to upload/download the list (say in a CSV file) would be phenominal.

That's pretty much it.
Any, all help, as always, is much appreciated.

There are two ways I know to address your second concern:
1. Script it -- this is what I have done to add multiple people.
2. Use the majordomo email interface.

Regarding the first question, I believe you can add the person as:
FirstName LastName <emailaddress>

Thanks for the replies.
I will try your suggestion for the second issue.

What is the majordomo interface...how to I access it or install it on the server?

The suggestion worked.

The suggestion worked. Glad to read that. Which suggestion? Please verify my FirstName LastName suggestion. Sorry, I usually test things first.

FirstName LastName <email@email.com> worked well.
