View Full Version : with installatron ... is it possible to have some sort of alert on updates available

I had a joomla mambo and a few others... install ... and I am certain i checked them Thusday (yet over the weekend exploited/hacked / etc) ... and if there was a new update available ... having some sort of immediate alert system (to send me an email / page me / anything ) that things need updating would be of benefit to all the accounts that might reside on one server.

luckily my installs were just playing around with the options available under installatron and the site I maintain is not extremely crucial ...

but as a result of some update not being installed - I had some bounced email. and had it been on a week day it would have been a bigger pain .

Whenever there's an update done, the servers should send out an email telling you there are updates to specific packages...(those installed by installatron)

ok, so this past weekend ... apparently I was already up to date ... I hadn't gotten notice of anything since June 27th ..that was the last email regarding installatron for mambo. .

thanks I mostly forgot that those were already being sent.

and I'm not adventerous enough to go beyong installatron .. but If I did I'd be watching it very carefully.

Ok, maybe I'm stupid... Where do I set this up? I've been with you for years and have never gotten this email...

They should be mailed automatically to the address listed in DA... might want to check your spam folders.

We also just suggested to the folks at itron that they give us the ability to send out "reminders" periodically to registered installs thru itron. They've indicated this is a good idea and are working on the update.

Just double checked both of my domains to make sure I knew what the email in each of them was... I've ~never~ received any updates on either of my domains. Not in the inbox. Not in the spam-trap.

Gmail should be ok for those, right?? All you really want there is an off-site email addy, right?
