I've been with HostPC for about a year and a half now and have been extremly satisfied with their service. It always amazes me that I can get daily backups and 24-7 IRC support, in addition to all the regular goodies for such a low price.
Like anyone who continually tinkers with their website and only partially knows what they're doing, I've had a few issues now and then. Each time things have come up I have jumped on IRC and have had an answer within 15 minutes.
Many of these "issues" were self induced. (Like the time I setup a cron-job to run every 20 minutes, had an error in my code, and let it run for 6 months filling up an e-mail address with 60k e-mails.) A few other times there have been legitimate things going on with a server, mostly minor (e.g. mysql crashed once while I was doing some things on my site. When I mentioned the issue in IRC, they were already working on it) . Regardless of what the issue was, Joe and his gang have quickly responded to the scenario and reacted accordingly.
Just recently I noticed that the response times were getting much slower on the server I was on. I mentioned this to Joe in IRC, and he promptly asked if I wanted to change servers. (Apparently the server I was on had a few lucky individuals who had seen drastic increase in their webtraffic. Joe was letting them move their sites to a new server, but it was going to take them time to do so and not interupt traffic. Since I didn't want to wait that long, he said I could move. Within 20 minutes he had my new account setup)
This is definitely the typical type of service that I've seen with Hostpc. You mention a problem, and they look into it. If its their issue they take care of it very quickly. If its an issue that you caused they'll typically help you quickly if they can, or point you to some resources to help you out. Now don't get me wrong, they're not going to trouble-shoot your code for you or do other things that are your responsibility. However, if you say, had 60k e-mails using up most of your webspace from cron-job notifications ;-), and they're not too busy, they will gladly delete them all on the server for you (Thanks Ryan!).
