I use thunderbird via imap for my domain email, but most of my users user some sort of webclient (either the provided squirrelmail, or my own installation of ilohamail). I've grown more and more tired of Ilohamail, and even Squirrelmail doesn't have that "web client" email oomph that things like gmail have. I'd like some sort of better interface for my users, I guess even if that means dropping imap support within thunderbird. Of course,
What I'm wondering, can it work to have "gmail for your domain" host my domain's email, but still have the rest of the site hosted here? I'm thinking it would offload some of the email storage that people have onto google's servers, too. I dunno....
I'm still debating whether I'd like my domain's email on google or not, but that's another story. Why oh why can't there be a good solid clean webmail IMAP client that runs on PHP/MySQL that is as slick as google's offering?
On the other hand, having emails on another server could be bad, in that I can backup everything from HostPC and know that I've got everything, emails and all. I wouldn't have that luxury with google, would I?
Thoughts or ideas? Thanks!
