we were alerted to a problem with www44 this morning approximately 6:15am ET.

Upon investigation, I found that the main drive in this system is showing signs of failure. I had no choice other than to reboot, which I did - and which prompted an FSCK - filesystem check - similar to scandisk in Windows.

There's no way of knowing exactly how long this will take - it could be a few more minutes, it could be a couple of hours.

Until it's finished we can't reboot - or know for certain if there's any filesystem damage.

I'll post updates here as more information becomes known.

Server is still in FSCK - about 90 minutes done.

It's taking longer than normal because of the amount of data on the server.

If you have a backup of your own and you'd like to get setup on a new box, open a helpdesk ticket with your username and off-site email address.

We're working on gathering data from the backup servers to restore should that become necessary.
