Is there any way to allow the webmail attachment size limitation to be changed, modified or increased? I looked on the standard DA page and do not see anything there.

I have a Reseller account if it matters.

Just out of curiosity -- how big do you want the limit to be?

If it gets too big, alot of boxes won't be big enough to accept a large attachment. Plus the amount of time it takes to download.

IMO, If you regularly need to transfer large files, you might want to look instead at ftp.

It is not how big do I want it to be- it is the fact that there are customers out there that regularly want to send 2- 3 megs or so in file size. If they have a file that is limited to 2048000 bytes and they want to send a file that is 2049000 bytes, is that really that much more of a strain on the server? Yet it immediately receives a failure due to the attachment size.

I am just inquiring as to if this limit is a fixed and hard limit (in which case I will inform the customer) or if there are ways of moving this up to say 2.5 meg file limit or something else.

FTP to many out there is like the big black hole of the internet- something that requires training, (on both ends sending the file up to the servers, and the other end instructions on retreiving the file - many of which do not even have an FTP client loaded on their computer. So now they are talking about some sort of web based interface or 3rd party storage like rapidshare, etc. to handle the stuff.

While in a perfect tech world I agree that the file attachment size for email should be limited to reduce the transfer time, may businesses do large file sizes - especially with so many having high speed connections today.

I've recently sent emails that were 5-6MB in size so I know the limit is at least that large. I may be completely off, but it seems like the limit here was 10MB, but don't hold me to that. Of course this means that the actual attachments need to be under 10MB since the conversion process results in a larger total package.

As a more user-friendly alternative to FTP, I'd suggest one of the free services like yousendit.com. The sender uploads the file to yousendit and the recipient gets an email with a link to the file. I think yousendit allows 100MB files and it's much easier for the less computer literate clients.

Were the messages sent through the Webmail interface or through a mail client like Outlook, etc.?

My question is specifically to the WEBMAIL and nobody has responded with an official answer.....

I'm sorry, I foolishly assumed that the limit would be on the mail server and not the interface. But after testing the uebimiau, roundcube and squirrelmail interfaces, it appears as though all three have a limit of 2MB.
