View Full Version : Grand ReOpening Sale - Absolutely Ends 11/18/2003
We've completed the redesign of our website, got our new control panel online, and we're ready to rock and roll in the new TranXactGlobal Datacenter in Atlanta!
You'll notice several changes around here. Quotas, features, add on domains, and layouts are among the biggest changes. Our servers in Atlanta are now featuring the DirectAdmin control panel that allows us to offer these features to our customers. We're really excited about the possibilities.
We're also ready to allow CURRENT customers to move to the new DA servers. There are several things you'll need to keep in mind.
1. Moving is NOT mandatory at this point, but I think you'll really enjoy the features of the new control panel.
2. If you decide to move, we do NOT move your data, etc. This is your responsibility. We give you 7-10 days to move in so there's no downtime. It's up to you to move your files and adjust to your new "surroundings".
3. There are 2 features that are NOT available on DA at this time. IMAP and SSH. We do anticipate thier introduction, but there is no ETA.
4. To move, you'll need to provide us with your current receipt number from when you signed up. This is so we can verify billing, and insure the account holder is the one requesting the move. No sites will be moved without the current billing information for verification.

Sorry, we can't move your info...
We've run into a temp snag in the conversion form... customer conversions to DA will be postponed a short while until we correct this.
We'll have it ready this afternoon - sorry for the delay.

Joe,
I am not sure if this is intended, but the front page say the starter and personal bandwidth is 8 and 12 gb but when you go to order page you see 4 and 9 gig respectfully... i just saw that when trying to explain something quick to a prospective new customer... (maybe i read it wrong)
We're getting a lot of positive feedback on the multiple domains feature. It should be a better deal than the multi-sites packages we were offering.
Joe
So, what exactly do we need to do if we want to move? Do we keep our existing specifications, or do we get those "Sale Specifications"?

Hi Joe,
Only the 'order now' URL on the $25,-- special seems to work and
only offers me to order the $25,-- special. (one item in 'service type'
dropdown selector).
The 'order now' URL on the other 3 plans result in:
The requested URL /ordering.php was not found on this server.
Apache/1.3.27 Server at www.hostpc.com Port 443
I tried from Konqueror, Galeon, Mozilla/NS (all Linux) and even
IE (I shouldn't have done it). All the same result after accepting
the certificate.
Is the online ordering system overloaded?

Frits.
I personally am getting some heavy packet loss to the RS network - not quite sure what Verizon is up to (or down to) - but I fixed that link - which was wierd because I've gotten orders through there today.
Bizzare.

Anyone on the previous $25 sale quotas will be upgraded, at no charge, to the current sale quotas when they move to DA.

How come you are limiting the number of subdomains on the sale packages?

Yep, seems to work for me now.
I'm not fully sure yet which plan I'll order. I'm still doing some math on what is needed, but I do plan to order my 3rd package in a row at Hostpc today or tomorrow.

The order form only seems to allow usa/canada as country.
Are international / overseas orders not possible anymore?
Frits.
Sure are - just select "Other"

if/when IMAP becomes available, will you be moving back to Squirrelmail or will you stay with the current webmail in DA?
and/or will it be installable by the end user at that time?
I've heard reports that squirrelmail WORKS as it is right now - but I haven't tested it. If you'd like to try on your own site, go right ahead. I think they're planning a SM rollout when IMAP is fully supported.

do we have sendmail function on DA servers?
It seems that all mail() in my scripts are not working...
any idea?

Thanks for adding it, I have submitted my order and now I am getting used to the new panel..
In the first experiences I must admit it's quite a bit faster. Specially the file manager..
I am very curious what this does for a mx-system/phpbb portal. I hope it 'flies'.
.. working hard to get it all up...
Thats the goal - make it better, make it faster, and make it secure!
This sale is still going strong!! Thanks for your continued support!

So all I have to pay is $25 dollars for that whole package? Are the servers slower or something? Are they the same as the starter package?
(Now you have me interested!!!)
Yep - $25 for the same service level that all customers enjoy.
Check our users feedback - I don't think you'll find anyone saying they're "slow" :)
Hope to see you onboard soon!
Joe
Josiah,
They're the same servers - same stuff -- Just a great price! The servers are brand spankin' new, too.
And the support from Joe and Nick is the best around at any price.

Just a few more questions: :)
1. I will be hosting my personal web site JosiahMackenzie.com with you. I already have the domain registered -- I can transfer it once I pay the fee by changing the DNS, right?
2. Can I remove the "www" prefix on sub-domains? (For example "blog.josiahmackenzie.com" instead of "www.blog.josiahmackenzie.com".)
3. Can I access my email from the web? (Ie, webmail)
4. Do you have a money-back gaurentee? ( :P I know the spelling is wrong!)
5. What is your uptime?
6. I can pay with PayPal, right?
Thank you so much! You guys run a great site!
1. All you really need to do is update the nameservers. If you want to transfer the entire domain here, it's $8.95 and it gets renewed for one full year.
2. Yes.
3. Yes, your choice of Uebimail or Squirrelmail - both are installed on all accounts.
4. Absolutely - all accounts get a money back guarantee.
5. Uptime average for all servers is 98.9% currently, but rising quickly (we're moving off the old Rackshack equiptment as fast as possible to brand new servers - uptime % is increasing overall every month. Averages: RS uptime: 96.2% - DV2, so far, 99.999%) - we're currently at DV2
6. Paypal is preferred, we also take all major credit cards.
Hope that helps.
