I've googled for opinions about hostpc/yareo and it looks like a great hosting company
There are several things on the various ordering pages that aren't exactly clear, and i can't find any explanation for in the help pages.

https://support.yareo.net/cart.php?gid=0000000010
* Transfer domain - FREE!
* Domain name transfer - Use this option to transfer your domain name to HostPC - $11.99 USD Annually

Obviously those two things are different, but the first option is misleading, as i would assume it to mean the same thing.
Is the first option simply leaving the domain management with the existing company, and changing the DNS?

"Domain Name ID Protection (Anonymous registration)"
On my current host I have "privacy protection" as an included feature, free from PrivacyProtect.org
you can see it in action here: http://whois.domaintools.com/cameronr.com

Is "Domain Name ID Protection" essentially the same thing? (but obviously not free)

"EPP code" - i have a "Domain (Transfer) Secret Key/Authorization Code", is that the same thing?

Thankyou!

The transferring is free. You're paying $11.99 for another year of renewal. So when you transfer a domain and pay $11.99, your expiration date is set to the next year.

Leaving the existing domain company and transferring to HostPC - normally the DNS remains intact while transferring.

Thanks anjanesh,

Just to clarify:

* Transfer domain - FREE!
This option will transfer the domain to HostPC for free, and leave the expiration date as it is.

* Domain name transfer - Use this option to transfer your domain name to HostPC - $11.99 USD Annually
and this option is the same thing, but renews it for an extra year.

There is no transfer "fee" to transfer a domain to hostpc - unlike other companies.

You'll pay a $11.95 renewal, and that will push out your domain expiration date one year with the transfer. You do not lose time on your current registration period.

I'm sorry, i thought i had already replied to this.

So, that covers this option:

* Domain name transfer - Use this option to transfer your domain name to HostPC - $11.99 USD Annually

What are the details of the other option?

* Transfer domain - FREE!
I believe this just means the current expiration date is kept, is this correct?

No, this means we don't charge you to transfer the domain to us. Some companies charge you a "transfer fee" of $5-$10 USD PLUS the renewal fee - we do not.

When it comes to the registrars (I'm not sure about hosting companies), usually they charge you for the transfer and then extend the registration by a year (I'm under the impression that's an ICANN requirement.) I would assume HostPC is the same way.
