What is going on with the mySQL server?

Over the last few weeks I have noticed a pretty consistent outage between 6:30 am and about 8:00 am. It does not last the entire time, and it does not seem to happen during any other time of the day. Is there some reason for this or am I just going nuts?

My forum just keep saying "unable to connect to SMF database" at random intervals during the times listed above.

interesting, I have had a client say the same thing...must be backup processes or some such tasks running at that time interfering with something, maybe some boneheads poorly writen cron or something.
