ISPs Purge Servers of Child Porn Newsgroups, Sites

Any comment from our MAJOR ISP in New York?
Wouldn't this be covered by a TOS anyway?

Unfortunately, these large providers have had 10 years to help clean up the industry - they failed.
But - what I have a problem with is the "big three" Verizon, Time Warner Cable , and Sprint are now filtering content - and have already begun, in some areas, capping your monthly usage. If they filter this - what else will they filter now that they've been given the tools and the discretion? The thoughts of "sterilization" of the net are scary - and bring to mind the great wall of china - on the net.
I agree, child porn should NOT be on the net - period - no way - no how - in any form. However, we as American's often fail to see the internet Globally - it does exist beyond our borders - and in some places, unfortunately, it's legal. It doesn't make it right, just legal in areas where perhaps they haven't gotten around to making laws to rid their lives of it.
Child porn needs to go (along with a lot of other things) - it's too bad however that the industry couldn't regulate itself - as we had hoped, and as was promised.

Oh, by the way - if child porn is found on any of our servers - its deleted as soon as it's found or reported. No questions asked.
I'm an adult - I have no use for the exploitation of children, women or men in the pornography business. Real men don't need porn.
I remember 10 or so years ago when the FBI made a big push to get child porn off of Usenet. The result was that the content spilled into other newsgroups after the ones with suspicious names were shut down. The content never went away, but people who really had no interest in the stuff were suddenly bombarded with it.
At least if there are newsgroups dedicated to child-porn, the law enforcement agents have a honey-pot of suspects.
