Anyone seems to time out while writing emails in webmail? yea, i know few use it, but i must either type emails that are way to long or i am a slow typer...

i was hoping that we could get the timeout time extended... this would also extended the time that you have to read email... I tend to open an email and leave it open for reference in webmail, and it times out if i try to go back to inbox...

if it is possible, in config.php (In version 2.7.8 you'll find it in config.security.php.), change: (normally in the path var/www/html/webmail/inc/config.php)

###############################################
# Session timeout for inactivity
###############################################

$idle_timeout = 60; //minutes

where 60 is the magic number selected by hostpc...(hopefully a high limit  )

Also the space for webmail that is listed on the bottom is limiting... I am a pack rat, but still...THe space that the webmail takes up, is i believe, is taking it up on our space, as part of our total storage... I sometimes get large pdfs or presentations that i like to hold on to, but unforntunately the webmail quota is limited to 20 meg... Can this be increased since it is really our own space we are wasting? No rush rush on this one, since I have about 5 meg of space left...

Thanks,

the inactivity timeout is set to make sure that after a session is closed, no one else can login and send mail under your name - 60 minutes per e-mail is pretty reasonable - I don't really see a need for changing it past that.

As for the storage, I'm hesitant to go much higher - especially as IMAP comes along. When IMAP is instituted, everytime someone logs in, they have to download ALL their mail again, each login. So more than 20m can really hamper a connection - and thats what slows down servers. As we get closer to IMAP, I'll let you know what we can do.

Woah it is 60 minutes timeout right now? it times me out after less than 5 it seems... 60 was just there as an example... 60 minutes is definalety enough, but i seem to lose my typed messages after a relatively short period of time...

I complained about it in the e-mail help forum. If you open a help desk ticket, they will extend it to a more reasonable time frame. No more re-typing e-mails!! Woohoo!!
