I'm considering going with a VPS account, but I had a few questions:

What is the Business Continuity Insurance? What do I lose by declining it?
How often do automated O/S updates occur?
Does the customer have control of when updates are applied (i.e., receive message that they are available)?
Are OS updates handled differently for Windows then Linux? If so, how do they differ?
The VPS Special (http://hostpc.com/community/showthread.php?t=4171) post implies that RAM may burst higher than 3GB. Does it? If so, to what range can it burst?
Do CPU resources burst? If so, to what range can they burst?
If I were to mess up my VPS, is it possible to request that the image be wiped to a clean install? If so, what would the charge for this be (if anything)?
Is it possible to order a VPS, then set it up the way I want it, and then create an image of the setup (backed-up locally on my own computer), and then at some point in the future wipe the VPS and reinstall the image?
Is the MS Win Server 2008 option R2 or not? If not, does it include SP2?

Also, is there a document that describes the Managed Services in detail? I understand that it includes a weekly backup and help with LAMP/WAMP setup. I assume that realtime monitoring means that I would receive notification when the server was down (or unreachable).

Is the firewall setup/configuration something beyond what is on the server (at the router level), or is strictly assistance with configuring/setup like LAMP/WAMP?
What can the 2 hours of system admin assistance be used for? Are things like email configuration, installing other packages (e.g., lighttpd, python, capistrano, etc.), monthly updates of installed packages (if needed), server performance optimization legitimate uses of sysadmin assistance?

If I've missed more detailed documentation somewhere, feel free to just point me there if these questions are already answered.

TIA.

I was able to get a few answers, so I'll post what I've found:

1. As I understand it Business Continuity Insurance would compensate one from losses associated recovering from a catastrophic problem with ones website (e.g, DoS, hackers, etc). I'm actually surprised this is selected by default, I would think most customers would not want it.

9. It appears that MS Win Server 2008 R2 is not available at this time. If you want Windows, your options are Server 2003 or Server 2008.
