View Full Version : Default email address
When I created this user's account under my reseller, I used his name and domain I was setting up for the email address:
username@domain.com
Now, he can not login to get he email under that address, I have verified the username and password, but to no avail.
Can't you use this initial email address for your users?

Um i dont understand your question; or the sentence structure for that matter...
You created a username@domain.com correct? "Now, he can not login to get he email under that address" could he ever? On ensim? or on DA? why did you create an email address if he could before?
He can't login? under webmail? POP? he can login to his admin panel but not email?
"I have verified the username and password, but to no avail." meaning you confirmed he is using the right username and Password? or you verified that the password is not valid?
Maybe i am just too confused to read, but i have no idea what you have done or tried...
I THINK you might be saying is that he cannot log into his webmail using the user@domain.com using the admin name that you gave him to administer the domain. I think. Is he using "user@domain.com" as his login name? If the user is not a virtual user on DA, he must use "user" for user name, not "user@domain.com" like every other virtual email address... This ONLY applies to "user" where "user" is the admin username.
I hope i helped... ha.. sorry :blink:
hello john
best solution..open a helpdesk ticket
include the problem..domain and your reseller name
:lol:
Alright, it was a quick post. I moved my users from Ensim to DA. In the process of doing so, I created a user account under my DA reseller account. Let's call the username, "john", the password "password", and the domain "widget.com".
Under DA I "Add a user"
Username = john
Email address = john@widget.com
Password = password
Domain = widget.com
Disk space = 100mb
Bandwidth = 50mb
domains = 2
blah... blah... blah...
The user is now created.
2 domains are created under this account, and both are uploaded and fine.
Now, under Outlook AND Webmail, the username: john@widget.com and password: password, do NOT work.
Do I need to create a NEW POP account for this account, or should the "john@widget.com" work?
If I need to create an new account under each domain (and delete the old one with the username, "john"), and the user WANTS the john@widget.com email address, do I need to create a NEW account under my reseller account, with a different username so that a POP email account can be created using the "john" prefix?
Is this making any more sense?

HAHA, yea, much better sense...
I am not 100% about reseller accounts, but i beleive that he can log into his web email using just 'john' instead of john@widget.com
Give that a try...
DA mail can be very confusing...that is one thing I'm not a fan of switching to DA
Here is how it works...maybe this will clear up the problem
The MAIN user of the account...which is equivalent to ADMIN in ensim only uses USERNAME to login via outlook or webmail
Now, other users like MAINUSERFRIEND have to use MAINUSERFRIEND@DOMAIN.com to login via outlook or webmail.
Hopefully that clears this up
