Basic Questions

Ok, got my databases all moved over to DA from Ensim, was actually quite easy with the information I got from these boards. Now for my next set of questions:

1) I backed up the files from ensim, is there anyway to put them directly into DA? If not I assume I just FTP them from Ensim directories to the public html folder in the DA server, correct?

2) Ok, I assume that the config.php files will need to be changed to direct them to the new database names. What programs can be used to do this?

3) Once I got all the stuff moved how do I make the new DA site go live?

Hello dschoemaker

1) yes..sort of..the directory structure is a bit different though
ensim used /var/www/html
da uses /public_html
so make sure everything you downloaded you put in public_html

2) yes...you must change the config file settings to look at the new database name, username and pw if they changed as well

3) you need to updated DNS...that takes 24 to 72hrs...but both the old and new site will be live...so no downtime
