For users on this server, if you use the Squirrelmail interface available at yourdomainname.com/squirrelmail - there is an experimental set of "plugins" available to you including:

1. spamcop
2. abook_take
3. calendar
4. filters
5. fortune
6. message_details
7. newmail
8. sent_subfolders
9. squirrelspell
10. translate

You'll notice there are a few requested plugins, including Spamcop, spell check and calendar.

I BELIEVE this is for each individual domain. In other words, you can have your own Spamcop rules - created right in the interface.

To access each of these, Open Squirrelmail, click on Options, you'll see them all listed.

If you use Squirrelmail, I need you to check these out. If there's any issues I should be aware of - I need to know. If you run into any problems, let me know. If you don't use webmail at all, you can safely ignore this message.

This is only enabled on THIS server (www9) at the present time - if it's successful, I'll enable it on the rest.

Thanks for your help!

Joe

Bless you! Bless you! Bless you!

Thanks bunches.

Are these per domain -- or per user? They appear to be per-user. I've set the filters on one user on one of my sites, but the filters don't apply to other users on the same site. And then it applies only to Squirrelmail, right? Not POP3?

Looking forward to many, many great things in '04. Happy New Year!

Thats VERY good news, If we can get one or two more people to confirm this, I'll happily activate it on all servers.

I'm still holding out for a POP domain wide spam killer app.
(I can't change my users from outlook to squirrelmail)

Any news in 2004? ;)

Joe- FYI I see the following error msg atop the screen for Options:Spam Filters

"WARNING! Tell your admin to set the SpamFilters_YourHop variable"

Don't know if it matters, just passin' it along.

I get the same warning info.

thanks for the plug-ins. I don't seem to have any one else's settings in any of my plug-in related items so it would appear to be per user at this point.

I'm going to continue testing the various plug-ins. I'll report back if I find any issues.

Ok, give it a shot - really test it good.

I know the error is gone, but I want to know if anything else is going on weird.

Thanks

Not sure if this is related, but since IMAP goes thru Squirrelmail, I'll post it here JIC.

I've been noticing a marked increase in IMAP slowdowns in the last week. 20-30 second waits to retrieve a message from the server. (I used to see this a lot on ensim2 before I moved to the reseller box.) My client tells me it's "waiting for a free connection" to the server. Seems to peak mid-morning and late-afternoon Central Time.

IMAP goes through SM??? Didn't know that. So then, do these filters work on the IMAP mail, too? Cuz I don't think they're applied to the POP3 mail...

These plugins are now available on all servers.
