I've been looking at using HostPC as my webhost, and also looking at various other domain name registers. I've noticed somethign that has me a bit confused.
The HostPC plans say they offer "Unlimited Subdomains"...
The Domain Name Registar says you can "Have up to 50 Subdomains"
Which one controls the subdomains..? Not that I plan on having 50 subdomains...but it's good to know :)

HostPC (really, you) controls the sub-domains. The registrar would control it if you hosted your websites on its servers.

this may be slightly OT for Host PC, but if your web host doesn't offer sub-domains (unlike HostPC), wouldn't it be handy to have sub-domain controls with the registrar?

Is that a question for me, Dan? If so, I guess it might be nice.

yeah, I guess it was an inquiry. not sure if you've had any dealings with those lousy hosts (largely of the past) which didn't offer anything like a CP or mySQL or sub-domains without paying an arm and a leg. So I wondered if you had one of those hosts, would buying sub-domains through your registrar be your best alternative?

The only use I see for subdomains hosted by the registrar is in the case that the different subdomains point to different servers. If your hosting company does not support sub-domains, I find it difficult to see how the registar's listing would help.
