Any chance that in the near future, there'll be a HTTP protocol used to send and receive mail. Similar to how Hotmail is set up?

Squirrel Mail is a web-based email client and comes with the Ensim control panel.

The problem is that, i do use Squirrelmail right now. However, my work firewalls all ports other than HTTP.
Thus, i cannot retrieve my mail via POP or IMAP using outlook express or Outlook. However, i could retrieve hotmail b/c they use the HTTP protocol.
I was just wondering if there's any hope or plan of having our emails here transfer via HTTP as well so i can download the mail on outlook
hello sammy
hostpc has no plans to implement HTTP protocol to send and receive mail. we supply our customers with pop/smtp/imap via a local client or squirrelmail. sorry for the inconvience this causes you at work..but at this time we do not have plans to implement this

thanks for the quick response. I was just cursious, that's all. I know most companies do NOT offer HTTP. I'm glad you provide IMAP. I love it!
I just have to deal with my work's firewall then, or use HTTP tunnel(SLOW!)
