View Full Version : Checking Email
We've noticed a LOT of users checking email every MINUTE... we'd like to respectfully ask that you check your e-mail once every FIVE minutes, to reduce loads on the server.
Thanks

does this including setting a 1 minute folder refresh rate on squirrelmail?
Yeah, we'd appreciate something like 5 minutes... if possible.
Thanks
Hi I'm new to HostPC, I hope to have a pleasant experience here (you know how some hosting can be  ).
Anyway, I want to set up email so it it is forwarded to my pop account, but I don't know what to set the incoming mail (pop3) or outgoing mail (SMTP) too.
Any help would be appreciated.
Everything is handled through mail.domain.com .... not sure what your domain name is, so substitute your information. :)

Thanks Joe..Problem fixed!
Ooops for got to login. The above post was mine. :D
I spoke too soon  . I set up an account in outlook express using Bob@thepostersite.com. I put mail.thepostersite.com for incoming mail (pop3) and outgoing mail (SMTP) and it checks to see if there is mail, but I can't send mail to Bob@thepostersite.com. Is there something I need to do in ensim? Maybe set up an alias or something?
By the way, this is the error I get...
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'Bob@gci-net.com'. Subject 'test', Account: 'mail.thepostersite.com', Server: 'mail.thepostersite.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 <Bob@gci-net.com>... Relaying denied', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
Hi Bob,
In Outlook/Express, check "SMTP Authentication" in the Servers Tab of the account properties... thats the number 1 reason for that error.
