delete mystery files?

signed up last week ... ftp'd up to my sites ok using the info in my welcome letter ... I had made a few quick index pages that I was going to put in ... I noticed there was already an index page and 2 folders there , one with some images in it ... I do hope those are generated automatically when the accounts were created? ... ok to just overwrite the index pages and delete the folders?

Yes, those are the default files and images - feel free to delete them.

I don't know WHY but sometimes you might end up with things on your site inventory that you can't delete.

I think the only solution is have the host get rid of it.

yes...sometimes when you install scripts they make the directories owned by apache...in which an administrator will have to delete the directories for you....if you run into that problem...just let us know via helpdesk.hostpc.com and we can take care of that
